Mr. Vijay Kedia Buys 5% stake in Amrutanjan

Dear Investor,

We have been witnessing extremely high volumes in Amrutanjan since 19th November compared to otherwise average daily volumes of less than a lac shares. These high volumes were accompanied by a ~75% rally in stock price since we initiated coverage.

Finally we know who was the man behind these numbers. In a BSE filing made post-market hours today, it came across that Mr. Vijay Kedia of Kedia Securities has been actively buying from open market since Nov 19th and now owns over 7.35 lac shares (5.03%) in the company. At today's closing price that sums up to a whooping Rs 35 Cr. Read the BSE Filing

Mr. Kedia is one of the legendary investors in our country. He recently part exited Atul Auto, an investment on which he made ~25 times.

Entry of such renowned value investor gives us further confidence in our thesis and is likely to make Amrutanjan a multi-bagger earlier than we had envisaged.

We do not suggest any profit booking at this point in time. Rather those who could not take full position might add.

Exact weightage will depend on each subscriber’s risk appetite & comfort. However, as a thumb rule, any position size under 3% is little insignificant to move returns at portfolio level whereas beyond 10% it gets riskier from a concentration standpoint. Accordingly, low could indicate 3-4% weightage, medium 5-7% and high 8-10%.
Structural are those portfolio businesses where earnings are relatively stable (less volatility) and further are expected to rise in a steady fashion. Cyclicals are businesses which experience periods of upcycle followed by downcycle and have large variation in their reported earnings based on industry demand and supply. The mix between the two depends on available opportunities and respective valuation of the two pockets.
